Netivot Aliya
“Netivot Aliya” is a unique track within Aminadav, designed for new immigrants or English-speaking girls who are interested in doing meaningful National Service in Israel — with extensive guidance, support, mentorship, and personal connection.
The program was built specifically to provide a full and meaningful sherut experience, while helping participants acclimate to life in Israel, build independence and confidence, and receive support every step of the way.
We believe that National Service can be both meaningful — and wrapped in love 💕
“Netivot Aliya” offers two tracks:
- Standard Sherut Leumi with guidance and support
- National Service with an additional layer of support
🌸 Standard Track
🌟 During your Sherut, you will receive:
- A standard Sherut Leumi framework (40 hours per week)
- High-quality sherut apartments adapted for girls who are living independently in Israel \ Nefesh benefesh apartment building opportunity
- Monthly group meetings for bonding, enrichment, and empowerment
- An option (starting from the month of Cheshvan) to receive individual counseling with a therapist
- Host families for girls who are interested
- Ongoing guidance and support from a madricha (mentor) and program coordinator
- And more…
Available service placements include:
Education, special education, healthcare, office work, MADA (emergency services), medical and patient-support organizations, senior care, tourism, and more.
Most of the placements listed on the Aminadav website are also suitable for English-speaking girls.

🌟 How does acceptance work?
During the winter months, sherut tours (“sayarot”) take place. Advance registration is required.
The word sayeret comes from the Hebrew word meaning “to tour.”
Girls visit the sherut placement, tour, hear about the role of the sherul leumi girl at the placement, get an impression, and then interview.
About two weeks later, girls receive a response from the sherut placement.
In parallel or following a positive response, the candidate will have an additional interview with the Sherut Leumi Rakezet.
Once accepted to both a placement and the Netivot Aliya track, the candidate can begin preparing her documents in order to be ready for the service start date on September 1st.
Throughout the entire process, you are warmly invited to consult with us regarding placements, procedures, and questions.
(It is recommended to inform the Netivot Aliyah coordinator before attending a sayeret so that a staff member can meet you there and assist with translation if needed.)
After receiving a positive response for both the placement and the track — Mazal Tov! 🎉
You can begin preparing for your service — a year of purpose and giving.
There is significant paperwork required before beginning service.
It is highly recommended to start handling documentation as soon as possible after acceptance.
Visa & Status Requirements
Tourists:
You will need to collect documents in order to obtain a volunteer visa.
Instructions will be provided by the Rakezet.
Olah (New Immigrant):
You must present an IDF exemption.
The exemption process includes:
- Making a declaration at the Rabbinical Court
- Sending the declaration to your rakezet as well as to the IDF
- Waiting up to 3 months to receive the exemption

Without an IDF exemption, it is not possible to begin service on September 1st.
Important: A girl whose parents hold Israeli citizenship is required to obtain an exemption.

🌸 Track with an Additional Layer of Support
This track is designed for girls who would benefit from a higher level of support throughout their service year — including structured guidance, close follow-up, and a personalized support system.
🌟 The track is intended for girls facing ongoing emotional, social, or daily-living challenges that make independent service more difficult. We invite each candidate to speak with us so we can determine together whether this framework is the right fit.

Unlike other tracks, Netivot Aliyah offers a full support framework and personal guidance from the very first interview through placement — hand in hand, without site tours and without going through the process alone 🌼
In addition, there are unique placements designated specifically for Netivot Aliyah participants, to ensure that every girl finds a placement that truly fits her 💪

- A weekly training day — a day of learning, connection, and support with the other girls 👭
- Close personal guidance — visits to service sites, one-on-one conversations, and daily contact with staff 🤝
- Apartment mentors — guides who support daily life and the transition to independence 🏡
- Comfortable, thoughtfully furnished apartments chosen to truly feel like home 💫
- Collaboration with social work students for those who need additional emotional or personal support 💬
- Shabbatonim and experiential trips throughout the year 🏕️

🕓 Service Structure
The service lasts one full year and follows a full-time format:
- 5 days per week:
- 4 workdays at the service placement
- 1 weekly training day
- 6 hours per day
📝 How do you join?
At the beginning of the winter, introductory meetings and interviews are held with the Netivot Aliyah coordinator.
Afterward, you will be referred to interviews at service placements and can choose the place that best suits you ❤️
Interviews begin in December–January (after Chanukah).
Service begins the following September.
